Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of window tint?
Decrease the heat inside of your car
Reduce the fading of your interior
Limit UV exposure
Enhance your car's appearance
Increase safety & security
How long does it take to install film on my car?
It all depends on the number of windows that need tint as well as the type of car. Expect to leave your car with us approximately 3 hours. Our work area does not have AC or heating and is not conducive as a wait area, so we recommend that you arrange for alternate transportation and leave your car for tinting.
How is automotive window film applied?
Window film is always applied to the inside of the automotive glass. Installers simply use the outside of the window to cut & heat shrink the window film for a proper fit. As professional installers, we completely clean and prep the glass prior to installation. Using a special mounting solution, squeegee and stainless cutting blades, we prepare, fit and secure the film to the glass.
How much heat will be reduced by the window film?
Heat rejection properties vary from one product to another. Some films can reject as much as 78 percent of total solar energy.
What About Warranties?
The brand of film we use offers limited lifetime warranty coverage.
What Is Meant By "Curing" And How Long Does It Take?
All window film installers use a special soapy solution during installation. It is normal for some of this solution to become trapped between the glass and the film, requiring small water based bubbles time to "dry-out". The curing or dry-out time is necessary for window film adhesive to properly bond to the glass. How long it takes depends on factors such as the film type and climate during and after installation completion.
What Do I Need To Know About Maintenance?
After the dry-out process is complete your window film should not need any special care. Cleaning window film can be done safely with mild soapy water and a soft cloth or soft paper towel. Do not use any rough or abrasive materials for cleaning the film side of the glass. Always use cloths that are free of contamination or dirt particles.
In Texas, what film is legal for my car?
(as of 6/2012)
Darkness of tint is measured by Visible Light Transmission percentage (VLT%). In Texas, this percentage refers to percentage of visible light allowed in through the combination of film and the window.
Non-reflective tint is allowed along the top of the windshield above the manufacturer's AS-1 line.
• Front Side Windows Must allow more than 25% of light in.
• Back Side Windows Must allow more than 25% of light in.
• Rear Window Any darkness can be used.
How reflective can the tint be?
Similar to sunglass lenses, some tinting film contain metallic elements that help in reflecting incoming light and reducing the glare and heat generated by visible light.
Front Side Windows must not be more than 25% reflective.
Back Side Windows must not be more than 25% reflective.
Other Texas Rules & Regulations
Restricted Colors - The tint color(s) of RED are not legal by state law.
Side Mirrors - Dual side mirrors are required if back window is tinted.

Sticker Requirements - The sticker to identify legal tinting is required between the film & glass on the driver’s side window.
Medical Exemption - State allows medical exemptions for special tint. For more details about the
specific terms of the exemption, consult your state.
